Internal links are of two types text-based and image-based. Done properly, they are a major boost for optimizing a website and can influence ranking to a considerable extent. It also plays a major role in increasing the accessibility of web pages. However, like external linkings or inbound links, outbound links are contextual and could be subject to anchor text spam, so be careful. 


This may all look simple, but internal linking becomes a complex issue in the case of major portals. The activity prioritizes content and builds the correct hierarchy in the link architecture. Usually, in a site with good architecture, all-important content or utility pages should be accessible with two or three clicks, four at the most. 


These links could be placed within the content, in the sidebars, headers, and footer. They are instrumental in finding key content the user is looking for, especially in the case of very large websites which are often too complex to use. 


If you successfully create a topic cluster and link to a pillar page, the results are far better. But it would be best if you strictly stuck to contextual relevance.

Without website promotion you will not get business from the Internet. Without content your site will not be ranking high enough on browsers or search engine SERPs you will not get business. This applies to professionals as well who are seeking response from the Net to increase their services or business. You may be hosting a website for any purpose it may not solve your problem without high ranking and for that you require SEO or search engine optimization which is part of Digital Marketing.      

There is another option for you and that is Google Ads or any other PPC. Well if you can afford or it works for you well and good. But promotion is a long term solution which you can add along with PPC.  Not everyone can afford Advertisements hence there is no option without SEO Campaign. 

Ethical optimization practices will fine tune your website as far as coding, architecture and user friendliness is concerned. It will also help in updating or re-engineering your website contents.  

In this blog entry we are discussing contents or rather algorithm friendly contents. Yes there should be a conjoint effort and include both ethical optimization and referrals. The latter helps you reach out to the customers or clients bypassing the search engines. In the current scene content should be focused on not only that meant for web pages, but also whence you are writing to create a link. If done well both efforts can lead to natural organic growth which the SEs prefer.  

If you write naturally than Semantic terms would flow in your write ups and this would help avoid infusion of search terms beyond reasoning. If a percentage of keyword is unnaturally high than you may be shown the door or the ranking for that term may plummet.  

Why Contents? 

Well contents are conversations more in use than attributes like videos, images or graphs. And this will remain. Users or visitors to a site seek answers to their query and that is best provided by contents followed by the other attributes mentioned above. Users seek quick answers to their query, and  optimization brings them the most relevant answers to their query via blog, website, videos, images, graphs and knowledge panels.    

Hence pay attention to what has been penned during the SEO Audit, wean out duplicate or repeat information, copied write up and come up with what is most relevant to the user's query.

As webmaster you will not be effective until unless you learn all aspect of writing for search engines and users the latter being the most important. And while you are at it learn to format and plan user friendly "UX" web pages so that the readability also increase and so does goal conversions.

More About Accelerated Mobile Pages

As mentioned in my earlier blog these are stripped down HTML pages that download fast. This development also highlights the limitation of web design and development technology. The inability to handle heavily loaded pages points towards design limitation. But there are elements that may be necessary or fit the role but nevertheless not suitable for visibility on mobile or smart phones. The AMP should be able to take care of that. Well time will tell. 

The AMP pages use what is termed as diet HTML.  The Java Script is not allowed but off the shelf script library can be used this enables images to download whence you scroll to the point. This may also be incorporated in many platforms in time to come.       

There are lot or restrictions whence building an AMP pages. The rules if not followed will fail the Google validation test. The tool for this test is built in Google browser Chrome.   

These pages are designed for fast download and readability and not for interactivity. Thus they can be easily cached,  pre loaded and  pre rendered.   This is amazing and will Google in time to come create AMP version of regular page and present it to the visitors instantly.

Gearing Up Your Website

When gearing up your website for search engines then have a serious peak at it first.

1) Does it has a look and feel that is soothing and justifies the topic?
Does it create a trust in your visitor?

2) Is it bogged down with unimpressive heavy graphics that take an eternity to load and the visitors leave in frustration?

3) Is it bogged down with confusing number of links placed haphazardly? Hence is the navigation user friendly?

4) Does the site talks only of sales an advertisement with no quality content? Does it communicate properly with the visitors or prospective buyers?     

5) Are the content persuasive and convincing? Does the site carry relational pages with on topic information on related technology and useful resources? Give people reason to visit your website.

6) Does the site  contains a long list of affiliate links. Is it bloated with affiliate banners that speak loudly of the affiliate programs? 

7) Is your site secure protected by SSL? Does it contain relevant privacy policies and your contact information? Are their certifications or approvals on site? 

8) The affiliate program you join should be legal and hold a reputation on the Net. Else you will have a tough time selling online. Is the advertiser trustworthy does the company have a reputation and brand image?
