Content Marketing is a buzz world in the modern paradigm that has created a tussle between various methods of promotion. Basically we think of content as large assemblage of words in form of a press release, news, article and blogs. But we are limiting ourselves here. 

Content Marketing is also few lines jotted down on Twitter or LinkedIn...even an info-graph, a meme or a video  carries content. Being an indispensable part of Digital Marketing, it plays a major role in lead generation especially in inbound lead generation. It can lead to successful marketing and achieve goals if the write up is persuasive enough. This means every content writer should be a good copy writer as well. 

Few words, or short form and long form content if written well are enough to satisfy intent or change intent using persuasive terminology. This is the purpose of content marketing...achieve set goal, be it for transaction, brand/company publicity or creating a positive repute for professional. Whatever!

Persuasive Sales

Conversion is persuading another mind to literally convert into a client,  a brand loyal or frequent purchaser. 

Does persuasive selling fill you with guilt? Well if A does not sell or convert B will. This is cut throat competition. Persuasion is not at the cost of a person's ability to think and judge it is more of elaborating the truth. You are not bedazzling the customer with a strong burst of light you are only expanding his vision.  But delivery is important else you will lose reputation. You cannot survive in social media sans reputation. If you are writing for the clients speak the truth - no false promises.         

You can sell dark glasses to a blind human. If you elaborate the fact that they do prevent infection. Yes eyes of blind people are not impervious to microbes or dust. The dark glasses also alter the presentation of a persons who cannot see.

Ideate! Think Content!

When you wish to tackle different intents you need to ideate. What to write and how to? Ideas are bread and butter for a writer they come through perception through your sensory apparatus. What you see or hear. What you read! What you think! Being active here means no writer's block.  

Ideas do not spring in a void. They emerge from our perception and awakening. Since ideas are related with the truth you should be alive and kicking to generate content based on a spectacular idea. What will engross readers? What will change or fulfill intent? And more specifically what is the trend? 

For Digital Marketing the best ideas are had by scrolling platforms like Face Book and LinkedIn to name a few. Besides keeping you contemporary these social media platforms are flooded with contents and these can become source of a new idea. 

Is this literary stealing or day light robbery?      

Not necessary gaining an idea is not copying contents it is not plagiarism. Never copy contents!

Reputation Online & Conversion

Content is like one sided conversation where you have all the ears without interruption, hence it should be more effective than a sales man's discourse. Not necessarily the sales man's voice and personality is his USP and in case of a content writer it is the reputation that he has built up online. Reputation arrive on the Internet by being honest and persistent. It cannot be built overnight.       

You should be answering questions like a salesman would. You have to be descriptive but not verbose. And there should be call of action at the end. CFA can also be present in company blog content which are generally descriptive.  You can convince blog readers to be part of your clientele or become a brand loyal. There is no end to what good you can achieve using the written word.   

Keep Writing! Specialize of Diverse!

You can specialize on one topic or write with clarity of diverse topics. Generally digital marketing  companies seek writers who are diverse. But niche service providers will certainly go for specialists that belong to their niche. Decide and groom yourself. But keep writing.
